Something nice happened in Denmark.

In early 2022, the company I worked for, the greatest one so far in my professional career, invited me for a work trip to the headquarters. This was the occasion to meet with my colleagues and taste the healthy good food at their stellar canteen. I was first booked at one of the company’s apartments and then relocated to a hotel in the center of Copenhagen because one of my roommates got COVID.

Upon stepping into my room, a collection of pocketbooks on a shelf hanging over the bed captivated my attention.

Those were authored by The School of Life, whose YouTube channel I highly recommend.

Intrigued, one morning, I couldn’t resist but initiated a conversation about those books with one of the waitresses as she was pouring my morning latte. I wanted to investigate why we had them in the rooms. A shared appreciation for personal growth became the gateway to a delightful exchange, as we delved into the School of Life’s captivating work.

I went on with my day and my week.

On my last morning at the hotel, I savored a quiet breakfast, savoring each bite as I was reading the last few lines of the very last book on that shelf to leave no stones unturned…
