Have you heard about the Dunning-Kruger effect, where basically confidence is plotted against experience? The early part of that graph accounts for what you mentioned about people trying to show how great they are. This is a mask. True confidence actually is based on full self acceptance (strengths & weaknesses), and does not need to prove itself, show off to others. It does not mean complacency, either. What you see on social media are unresolved traumas (not only ofc). And in the universe you attract not what you want, but rather what you are (to answer your point about evolution). Meaning that true confidence will appeal to people who did the work (on themselves), and not to those trapped in ongoing psychological patterns.

Ego always thinks we are flawed (my premise), but based on which standards? Going back to the DK effect, there are levels to this. At first, thinking you should be perfect, you decide to only look at what you like about yourself and show that to the world (again what you were mentioning), then you become slightly more aware and start to delve into your many inadequacies, you need to fix yourself, improve (my point in the article). And here’s the trick, as you keep raising your level of consciousness, you realize we all originate from the same womb, perfectly designed WITH our innermost aspirations. Acting from that place of pure love (when previously fear was the main driver), your behaviors naturally adjust to be of service to the rest. You don’t fix yourself there, but rather you enact the love that you are.

In the context of what I wrote now. What happened is that my fear of abandonment was at play and my ego identifying greatly with open mindedness thought I was flawed and had to fix me, and thereby repressing my needs. Acting from my higher self then, I am coming from a place of love to myself and to her. I am perfect and so is she. Does it mean I will not put my behaviors into question? Of course not. Because I understand that in a way we all live in a different world, with different perspectives, so I know that regardless of my good intentions, my behaviors could be interpreted in many different ways.

I guess the question we can always ask ourselves is: Why are we doing all that we do?

Hope that makes sense 🙏
