Frankl said it aptly, when someone does not have a strong sense of purpose they distract themselves with pleasure. Also, Nietzsche before him went, he who has a strong why can bear almost any how. Purpose helps us elevate to those pulls. Boredom in my experience is great but risky when it comes as a result of not having that purpose. We are the mercy of the devil around us then.
